Our Environmental Enhancement Service is looking for an experienced manager to oversee its Waste & Recycling team on a permanent contract. As part of its commitment to enhancing and protecting the environment the Council is seeking a manager to lead on improving our recycling rates and reducing residual waste.
The successful applicant will be in charge of a very busy waste management team and will have overall responsibility for the efficient delivery and continued improvement of the Service.
They will ensure customer satisfaction through efficient recycling, domestic and commercial waste collections, safe operation of the Council fleet and efficient operation of the full waste & recycling process. They will also have responsibility for ensuring these statutory duties are delivered in compliance with the Traffic Commissioner, Environment Agency and the Environment Bill.
If you would like to apply you will need at least three years’ experience of working in the sector at management level and leading a large team in challenging conditions. You will also need:
- To be educated to HND/Degree level in Waste Management or similar sector
- COTEC (WAMITAB’s full technical qualification NVQL4)
- CPC O-Licence holder for fleet management
- Full driving licence
- O licence Transport Manager CPC
- Wamitab Site permit licence qualification
